Sherman's Pass
I grew up in Vermont and learned to ski at 5 or 6 years old at a small family-run ski area called Bolton Valley. I still go to the same mountain with my kids now. We found this fun ski puzzle made of vintage ski posters and we loved it so much that the finished puzzle sat on one side of our dining room table for more than a month. We didn’t want to take it apart and put it away! I was inspired to use parts of it in three separate mixed media paintings, combined with portions of a “SKI” magazine we had already read.
Acrylic paint, puzzle pieces* and collaged paper on 16in x 20in wood panel. Sides are 1¾” deep and finished with collaged pieces from “SKI” magazine. Varnished and ready to hang.
*Pieces from “Ski Posters by Charlie Girard” puzzle by White Mountain Puzzles. Used with permission.
