Cloudy in Madaket

This piece started with a layer of paper flowers from my scrapbook stash. I added more texture with fiber paste and then layered on some dark colors. As I was creating the bright shapes, they started to remind me of hydrangeas which led to memories of many summer vacations in Nantucket. We often stayed in the Madaket area because it felt more isolated and less touristy.

Acrylic paint, fiber paste and collaged paper on 12in x 12in cradled birch panel with 7/8” painted edges. Varnished and ready to hang.
