Finding the Joy Every Day
This piece started with some bright and happy patterned paper from my scrapbook stash. I wanted something exuberant! As someone who has suffered with depression on and off throughout my life, “finding the joy” is one of my most helpful coping strategies. I make an effort every day to notice and focus on things that make me happy - a sunny day, bright colors, kids’ giggles, HUGS (after way too long), the beach, mountains… Anything that makes my heart skip a beat!
Acrylic paint and collaged paper on 24in x 36in cradled birch panel with 2” painted edges. Varnished and ready to hang.
